Position Summary

TrueForge is seeking a Solutions Architect / Lead Consultant to drive technical vision and strategy in our legacy application modernization projects. You will craft modern solution architectures for outdated systems and guide clients through their digital transformation journey, ensuring business and technology alignment.

About the Role

In this senior role, you will combine deep technical expertise with client-facing consulting skills. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders to understand their legacy challenges and design architectures that modernize their applications for scalability, security, and performance. As a technical leader, you will also mentor delivery teams and ensure the solutions implemented meet both the business objectives and quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Engage with clients to assess legacy system landscapes, gather requirements, and understand pain points in their current state.
• Develop comprehensive modernization roadmaps and solution designs (architecture blueprints) that address client needs and future growth.
• Advise and guide development teams during implementation, ensuring the architectural vision is properly executed.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies (cloud platforms, microservices, databases, etc.) to optimize each solution.
• Ensure that all solutions adhere to best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead on projects, responsible for the overall solution design and technical outcomes.
• Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to align technical solutions with business goals and project constraints.
• Provide hands-on oversight and mentorship to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Establish and enforce architectural standards and guidelines for modernization projects.
• Contribute to TrueForge’s knowledge base and methodology by developing and refining best practices in legacy modernization.

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive experience in software architecture and enterprise system design, with a track record of successful large-scale implementations.
• Proven ability to lead modernization or digital transformation initiatives for complex legacy systems.
• Excellent communication and consulting skills, capable of translating technical concepts for business stakeholders and vice versa.
• Deep knowledge of modern architecture patterns (microservices, API-driven design, cloud-native platforms) and familiarity with legacy enterprise systems.
• Leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset, with experience mentoring teams and influencing stakeholder decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development and architecture, including leadership roles in projects.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing architectures for legacy system modernization or enterprise software solutions.
• Expertise in architectural methodologies and design patterns, with strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and system integration techniques.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are a plus, and a solid understanding of industry best practices for security and performance is expected.
