Position Summary

TrueForge is looking for a Project Manager / Delivery Manager to lead our legacy modernization projects. You will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, coordinating between clients and technical teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

About the Role

As a Project Manager at TrueForge, you will manage multiple engagements focused on updating or replacing legacy systems. You’ll define project scopes and objectives, create detailed work plans, and manage resources and schedules. Crucially, you will act as the liaison between our clients and internal teams—ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and delivering projects that achieve their intended business outcomes. You will also handle risk management and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Lead project planning sessions to define scope, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation for each engagement.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, QA, designers, etc.) to ensure everyone is aligned and project tasks are progressing as planned.
• Monitor project progress and productivity, track key metrics, and adjust plans as necessary to address any deviations or risks.
• Communicate regular status updates to clients and stakeholders, and manage changes to scope or schedule through a defined change control process.
• Ensure each project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets the quality standards and goals agreed upon.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects from initiation to closure, ensuring each meets its objectives in modernizing client systems.
• Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets rigorously, negotiating changes or trade-offs when needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, building trust and managing expectations throughout the project.
• Implement project management best practices (Agile/Scrum or traditional methodologies as appropriate) to guide teams and track progress.
• Prepare and present project documentation and reports, including status updates, risk logs, and post-project retrospectives.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience managing complex software or IT projects, ideally in a consulting or client-facing environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate teams and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
• Familiarity with the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) for managing iterative delivery.
• A problem-solving mindset and calmness under pressure, with a focus on delivering results and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in the technology or software development sector.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects on time and within budget; experience with legacy system modernization or system upgrade projects is a plus.
• Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Agile practices (CSM, PMI-ACP) strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Trello, or similar) and excellent documentation skills.
