Our Hiring Philosophy
We believe interviews should be collaborative and enjoyable, not interrogations. Our process is designed to help you showcase your strengths while getting to know us.
How We Think About Hiring
Traditional tech interviews often feel like gatekeeping exercises, whiteboard algorithms, puzzle questions, and high-pressure gotchas. We reject this approach. Instead, we focus on outcomes: Can you solve real problems? Can you collaborate effectively? Do you share our values?
Real Work, Not Tricks
Our technical assessments mirror actual client work, pair programming on production code, architectural discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. No puzzle questions or algorithm recitals.
Transparent & Respectful
You'll know exactly what to expect at each stage. We respect your time, provide timely feedback, and never ghost candidates. You're evaluating us just as much as we're evaluating you.
Bias Reduction
Structured interviews, diverse panels, and blind CV reviews help us focus on your skills and potential. Not where you went to university or who you know. Talent over privilege.
The Journey: What to Expect
Typical timeline: 2–4 weeks from application to offer
We move quickly for exceptional candidates and keep you informed at every step.
Submit Your Application
Takes: 10–15 minutes | Response: Within 5 business days
What we need:
- Your CV (PDF preferred, max 2 pages)
- Optional: Brief cover letter explaining why TrueForge interests you
- Optional: Portfolio, GitHub, or relevant work samples
What happens: Our talent team reviews every application. We use blind CV reviews (names/photos removed initially) to reduce unconscious bias. If there's a potential match, a recruiter reaches out within 5 days.
Recruiter Conversation
Duration: 30 minutes | Format: Video or phone call
What we discuss:
- Your career journey and what you're looking for next
- The role, team structure, and client engagement model
- Compensation expectations, location preferences, visa requirements
- Our culture, values, and what makes TrueForge different
Goal: Mutual fit assessment. This is your chance to ask questions and understand if TrueForge aligns with your career goals. No technical assessment yet.
Technical Assessment
Duration: 1–2 hours | Format: Collaborative session with engineers
What happens (role-dependent):
- Developers: Pair programming on a real-world problem (we provide the setup, you drive the solution)
- Architects: System design discussion or architecture review of a case study
- Data Engineers: Data pipeline design or transformation challenge
- Analysts: Requirements gathering or stakeholder scenario role-play
What we evaluate: Problem-solving approach, communication, collaboration, technical depth, and how you handle feedback. Perfection isn't expected. We want to see your thinking process.
Culture & Values Discussion
Duration: 45–60 minutes | Format: Conversation with team members and/or leadership
What we explore:
- How you approach teamwork, feedback, and conflict
- Your perspective on ethical technology, DEI, and social impact
- Situations where you've learned from failure or adapted to change
- What motivates you and what kind of environment helps you thrive
Goal: Assess alignment with our values (integrity, continuous learning, collaboration, advocacy). We're not looking for "culture fit" (everyone thinking the same). We want "culture add" (diverse perspectives that strengthen us).
Offer & Onboarding
Decision: Within 2 business days | Onboarding: Customized to your start date
If successful:
- You'll receive a detailed offer including salary, benefits breakdown, and start date options
- We're open to negotiation. Compensation should feel fair and motivating
- Pre-boarding materials sent 2 weeks before your start (equipment, access, reading)
- First week includes TrueForge Academy onboarding and team introductions
If not selected: We'll provide constructive feedback and keep your profile active for future opportunities. Many of our best hires initially applied for different roles.
Common Questions
Quick answers to common questions about working with TrueForge.
Do I need to meet every requirement in the job description?
No. Job descriptions are wish lists, not hard gates. If you meet 60-70% of the criteria and are excited about the role, apply. We value potential and learning ability over perfect skill matches.
What if I'm a career changer or recent graduate?
We actively welcome career changers, bootcamp graduates, and self-taught technologists. Our TrueForge Academy programme is designed specifically to support your transition through training, mentorship, and real client work.
Do you sponsor visas or support relocation?
Yes. For the right candidates, we provide visa sponsorship and relocation assistance to Dubai. Discuss your situation with the recruiter during your first conversation.
Can I interview for multiple roles?
Absolutely. If you're genuinely interested in different career paths, let the recruiter know. We can structure the process to explore multiple options without repeating interviews.
How does remote work factor in?
Most roles are hybrid (3 days in Dubai office, 2 remote). Some positions offer full remote for exceptional candidates in compatible time zones. Client engagements may require on-site presence.
What if I don't hear back after applying?
We aim to respond within 5 business days. If you haven't heard back after 7 days, email careers@trueforge.ae with your application reference. Sometimes things slip through.
Can I reapply if I was previously rejected?
Yes. People grow. If 6+ months have passed or you've gained relevant experience, we encourage reapplying.
Do you provide interview feedback?
Yes, always. Win or lose, you'll receive constructive feedback explaining our decision and areas for growth. We believe candidates deserve this investment of our time.
